Let’s get to know eachother!
Getting to know eachother
If you are interested in a puppy from one of my litters please contact me. This can be done by telephone or by email. In the latter case, tell us something about yourself and your family and living situation.
I don't just give my puppies to the very first person. They deserve a loving home where they feel at home and owners who understand that a Border Collie can only be truly happy when they are challenged mentally as well as physically. People who know what a working dog needs.
By having a good impression of future owners in advance, we can look together for the right match. I would like to hear whether you have experience with dogs, are familiar with the breed, what your work situation is like and what plans there are for the dog (family dog, working dog, dog sport).
In my work as a childminder, a good relationship with my parents is indispensable as a basis. For me, this is no different in the case of puppies and potential puppy buyers. That's why I think it's important to get to know each other a little better. As a breeder, I am happy to be available for any questions even after the transfer and I would like to hear from time to time how the puppies are developing.
How I work
Health comes first and that is why the parent dogs are tested before breeding in accordance with the requirements set by the Dutch Kennel Club. The dogs are tested for hips, eyes (ECVO) and DNA.
The puppies are dewormed several times by me and checked by a vet in week 6. During that week they are also titered to measure the antibodies present. If necessary, they are additionally vaccinated. By choosing to titrate, the puppy's body is not unnecessarily burdened with vaccines if they have already received sufficient antibodies through their mother's milk. The puppies will be checked and chipped by the Board of Directors. The pedigrees for the puppies will also be requested.
The puppies are also tested for their character in the 7th week. Where necessary, I will provide advice or points of attention for the education and training of your new puppy based on the findings from that test.
The Border Collie is a breed that thrives best with people who understand that they are originally working dogs. If you want to prevent your dog from becoming bored, make sure that he/she receives sufficient physical and mental stimulation in the form of agility, Frisbee, sheep herding, obedience, etc.
A Border Collie will not be happy from just walking around the block every day and being home alone all day. So I take this into account when selecting the puppies.
All puppies will be born and raised in the home. Through my work as a childminder, they will also come into contact with children and the sounds and hustle and bustle that come with that. Furthermore, I will invest a lot of time and energy in optimal socialization.
When purchasing, you sign a contract which states that in the event that for whatever reason the dog can no longer be cared for and he/she can no longer stay with the buyers, he/she will be returned to me or I look for a suitable place for relocation.
I work with a waiting list, so please contact me in time.
I’m happy to take the time to answer any questions or an exploratory conversation.
